This is my sincere advice to Test engineers, I have little deep exp in searching the job and the expectations of companies, , If you really looking forward to make your career in testing , now it’s the time rethink that, now a day’s you can’t say have the exp in only manual or only automation. Today company looks for multi technology candidate.
Testing is a Ocean enormous technologies are coming and hitting the market or Versions are changing of the existing technology, we have to run with that.
1. If you are Manual Test engineer, Please learn one automation tool/scripting.
2. Please learn the Database(any) basics if you are not aware.
3. Having some knowledge on unix/linux is added advantage.
4. Its good having knowledge on any of these language Shell/pearl/python etc ..
Learn technologies which you think it fits for your present working condition and future.
